Today we did a little exploring on the north side of the island. The island can be crossed north to south in only about 20 minutes. It takes around 2 hours east to west.
I had heard about a woman who lived on the top of a mountain who weaves blankets and textiles on a hand loom. We made the drive to her place and found her behind her loom working away. She greeted us and pointed to the room where we could look through her wares. After perusing through we made our choice – a wrap for me.

Next we visited a couple of miradouros (scenic lookouts). What gorgeous scenery! We found a whale lookout which provided a nice break from the extreme winds. The cliffs were straight down with no warning or barriers.

After the lookout we went to a tea plantation. We walked around and sampled tea and cookies.

After we returned for Mark to work, I went to the market and bought cheese, meat, bread and produce for our dinner.

Oh yes, we did some laundry today too. Clothes dryers aren’t a thing here so you hang your clothes out to dry. Mark mentioned the view wasn’t near as nice on laundry day.
