Day 4 – Walked the City

Today was about getting our steps in. We decided to walk the waterfront from one end to the other and back again and then headed a little inland for more walking.

We didn’t go in any attractions, just walked and walked.

That being said, our goal today was to return to the British diner for Andy and Maria’s fish and chips. They were as good as he promised they would be. We sat next to a trio of German girls on holiday and enjoyed their company and conversation.

I made a point to capture several patterns of the sidewalks today. Here are a few of my favorites.

Along the marina are all these painted signs. The tradition here is when you come to port the first time you make a painting. It typically includes your boat, names, date and port of origin. It’s really fun to walk along and see all the creativity and art.

This one was too funny.

For dinner tonight we walked back down to the Marina and ate on the water. True Azorean seafood. Mark ordered squid and veggies. I went with a safer bet – shrimp and pasta. They were both phenomenal.
