Today the weather was divine – the nicest we’ve had so far. We started the day by walking down to the marina for a coffee and a ham and cheese pastry (6€ for 2 of each) and visited the local travel office to book some weekend flights.
We wanted to go back to the thermal pool in Furnas so we drove out and spent a couple of hours soaking in the rusty water. Heavenly.
Mark had to get back for meetings so we skipped lunch and then took a dinner break. We went back to Tuka Tula in Ribeira Grande (where we had lunch yesterday). Because the weather was so nice we were hoping the outdoor seating would be open and it was.

We went back to local eating tonight and told our server to choose for us. She brought Mark a seafood pasta with octopus, squid, shrimp and a giant prawn. I was given the octopus plate. Both were delicious.

I also found an “American IPA” made locally in the Azores so I made that my dinner beverage. It wasn’t bad.

We finished our meal by sharing a piece of cheesecake. Our server told us they didn’t have any traditional Azorean sobremesas (deserts) so we felt no shame in getting the cheesecake.
