Today was Mark’s golf day. He played 18 at Batalha Golf Course. It started off a little rainy and finished quite windy but the scenery was gorgeous and we had a great time.

The course is a series of 3 9-hole courses. Today he played courses B and C. The C course was quite interesting as it had lava boulders stacked everywhere and even some ruins on the course.

The sand bunkers are black – lava sand. The wind is fierce. But the views are phenomenal.
After golf, we went for our meal of the day at a place called Beach Bar and Grill. Choices are very limited at 3pm as most restaurants close between lunch and dinner.
We told our server we wanted him to choose our meal and he was very excited to do so. He brought us a fried seafood platter of squid, white fish and shrimp. With fries and salads.

I told him what kind of wine I like and he got the owner to choose my wine for me. I did not drink the bottle for lunch. It came home with me.
