Day 13 – Island Hopping

We had a lazy morning watching the waves roll in, ate a big breakfast and I even took a nap before we checked out of our hotel on Terceira.

We had a few spare hours before going to the airport so we toured an old fort, visited a cool island overlook and just toured around.

HUGE rooster!
Walls made from lava rock are everywhere.
Bye, Terceira

Pico Island is our destination tonight. When we arrived at our lodging the office was closed and dark. I sent a message and they said someone would be here in 10 minutes. She later explained the wind was so fierce they assumed our flight would have been cancelled. We did land sideways with a thump. She also gave us a sly grin when we asked if she thought we would be able to fly out of here tomorrow. I guess we will have to wait and see.

She put us in Unit #1 which is the lucky unit. Apparently if we leave a window open, the neighbor cat will come in. She said he only comes in this unit and likes to lay on “that” pillow. Noted. We will pet the kitty.

We found an amazing spot on the water for dinner tonight. It was pretty empty so we got to know our server (a basketball player from Nigeria) and a young couple who came in and set next to us. It was a wonderful meal for the conversation if nothing else.
