Day 22 – Tromba do Elefante

Today was another day that was supposed to rain and be cloudy all day…. And it wasn’t. It was a gorgeous blue bird day. We have crossed off almost everything on my wish list but there was still one rock formation we hadn’t seen yet. The Elephant Trunk.

I love sea arches and caves and this little spot has both – including one that looks like an elephant.

The afternoon was spent relaxing on the beach. We chatted with some other folks and watched the waves.

Then a bus pulled up and about 40 high school kids got out and started exploring the rocks. We assumed they were local students on a field trip but they were actually from the UK on a week-long geology trip.

The boys were being a little risky on the rocks around the waves and one got wiped out. Fortunately he was only a bit banged up but not seriously injured or dragged out to sea. I caught it on camera and he had a great laugh over the collage I gave him. So glad he walked away from that.

After Mark’s work day began, I headed back out to enjoy the beach some more. I found more beach glass and just enjoyed listening to the waves.

Today was the first time we got to watch the sun go down (no clouds or fog in the way). So I will leave you with this.
